About Us
Harnessing Microbial Discoveries for Precision Agronomy
En-Turf by UBIX BIO is a microbial turf program built for superintendents who want healthier, more resilient playing surfaces without adding complexity to their program.
Our team combines PhD-level microbiologists, data scientists, and biologics manufacturing specialists. Together, they develop, test, and support En-Turf programs that deliver consistent, measurable results on greens, tees, and fairways.

Our Story
En-Turf started with a simple question: if microbes drive so much of plant health, why aren't they managed as carefully as fertilizers and fungicides?
Led by Dr. Trevor Charles, a University of Waterloo microbiologist with decades of plant-microbe research experience, the team began isolating beneficial strains and validating them in real-world golf course and university trials.
The results were consistent.
Better root development. Improved stress tolerance. Reduced disease pressure.
Today, En-Turf delivers that science as a complete program. Microbial inoculants, lab tests, and course-specific recommendations so superintendents can see and manage the biology under their turf.

Chief Science Officer and Co-Founder
Trevor Charles, PhD
Trevor is a microbiologist and Professor of Biology at the University of Waterloo, where his research focuses on plant–microbe interactions, functional metagenomics, and beneficial bacteria for crops. Over the past three decades, he has led the formulation, testing, and refinement of microbial solutions for agriculture and turf, and he co‑founded UBIX BIO to bring those solutions to products like En‑Turf.

Head of Sales
Donya Wiseman, MSc
Donya works at the intersection of science and account management, focusing on agriculture and turfgrass microbiome projects. She leads sales and account strategy for En‑Turf, helping courses understand how biological sampling, DNA sequencing, and inoculation programs can fit into their agronomy plans. Her background allows her to bridge technical microbiome concepts with the practical needs of turf managers.

Head of Strategic Partnerships
Robert Schremp
Rob leads strategic partnerships at En-Turf, working directly with golf facilities to introduce innovative turf solutions where performance and course conditions matter most. A former professional athlete with deep connections in the golf community, Rob specializes in building trusted relationships with clubs that demand the highest standards. He identifies opportunities where En-Turf can deliver real agronomic and operational value, then connects those facilities with the company’s technical team to bring programs to life.

Head of Production
Solmaz Komijani, MSc
Solmaz leads biologics manufacturing and plant pathology testing for En‑Turf. She manages the production and quality control for the microbial strains used in the product. Her role is to maintain high standards for viability and purity so the biology matches the specifications established in the lab.

Head of Communications & Marketing
David Santos, MBiotech
David combines a biotechnology background with day‑to‑day responsibility for En‑Turf’s technical content. He works with the science and analytics teams to shape articles, pathogen write‑ups, label and kit language, and event materials that reflect current research and trial data, giving superintendents confidence in how and why the product works.
